Why do some people think that the second measles death of an unvaccinated child was not from measles?

The usual suspects…
Was the Second Measles Death Actually from Measles?
Pierre Kory, an internist who had his certifications revoked by the American Board of Internal Medicine, wants you to believe that the second unvaccinated child to die with measles in Texas also didn’t die with measles.
Why?
Because the child had a sputum culture that grew multi-drug resistant E. coli bacteria, which didn’t come back until the day she died.
And he blames her death, not on measles, but on “very poor clinical decisions” and “gross mismanagement,” because they didn’t have her on an antibiotic to treat multi-drug resistant E. coli.
“The Texas Department of State Health Services is reporting the second measles death of a Texas resident in the ongoing outbreak centered in the state’s South Plains region. The school-aged child who tested positive for measles was hospitalized in Lubbock and passed away on Thursday from what the child’s doctors described as measles pulmonary failure. The child was not vaccinated and had no reported underlying conditions.”
Texas announces second death in measles outbreak
A secondary infection that she would not have had if she had not developed measles in the first place. A secondary infection that is very rare in otherwise healthy children.
Not blaming measles as the cause of death for these secondary complications is like ignoring the car crash that a person was just in and simply blaming their death on internal bleeding.
These children died because they had well known complications of measles. It is why measles is considered a life-threatening disease! It is rarely mild, and it is why most people get vaccinated and protected.
These children died because they weren’t vaccinated.
